Our History

Clearwater was established in 2002 as part of the Victorian Stormwater Action Program. EPA Victoria provided funding and Clearwater was administered through the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) and Stormwater Industry Association of Victorian (SIAV). Due to Clearwater's proven effectiveness at increasing skills and creating change, Melbourne Water commenced funding the program in 2006 and Clearwater is housed in the Melbourne Water offices.

Clearwater is able to offer its extensive program through the generous support of a number of partners.

Clearwater has successfully undertaken the following projects:

  • Clearwater Toolbox: A snapshot of materials produced to support stormwater education programs
  • Doing it right on site #2. Managing building sites for stormwater protection with the Victorian Litter Action Alliance
  • Seven training modules
  • Regional training in 2007 with the Environment Protection Authority Victoria and Stormwater Industry Association of Victoria
  • A fact finding tour to south-east Queensland of decentralised wastewater management treatment systems for Victorian water businesses
