WSUD Maintenance Guidance Checklist
October 10, 2010Maintenance of WSUD systems are vital to ensure drainage function and assess the efficiency of the treatment in removing pollutants. Landscaped areas require ongoing maintenance to sustain vegetation health, control weeds, remove sediment and litter and maintain as designed levels.
The checklists featured here are from the Part 2 (pages 93 – 112) of the Melbourne Water WSUD Model Guidelines for Inner Melbourne Councils. This section of the guidelines also contains a guide to estimating costs for raingarden maintenance, discussion of maintenance for water recycling systems and a detailed appendix on the maintenance of each asset type.
These checklists are to be used as a template for your organisation to build your own maintenance checklist unique to the needs of your area and your specific assets. Please refer to the full Model Guidelines before using these checklists.
