Our Future Cities Seminar Series

Our Future Cities are excited to announce their 2018 Seminar Series and Student Competition!

Our Future Cities is a space to ask questions, challenge convention and wonder what a brighter urban future could be. They will be kicking off their inaugural program in 2018 by hosting a four part industry seminar series, as well as a student competition with $7,000 in prize money up for grabs.

The seminar series will cover a range of topics that will explore how we can all work to create more equitable, inclusive and sustainable cities. The four sessions will be focused on:

  1. Ensuring Thriving, Healthy and Enjoyable Environments in Our Cities - How water sensitive cities can enrich liveability, sustainability, resilience and productivity for everyone.
  2. Cities that Connect, Inspire and Empower for Action - Celebrating diversity through enabling connections and fostering inclusion in city design
  3. Fostering Resilience and Intergenerational Equity in Cities - Urban planning and design is already changing to address climate change. Are you keeping up?
  4. Principles of innovative and interdisciplinary city design - Keeping it real, why innovation and interdisciplinary practices are crucial for transforming our future cities.

These are free events, but spaces are limited. If this is of interest, please register for updates. Everyone is welcome to join the conversation.

The competition requires students to work together to tackle real-world city challenges at the Arden Urban Renewal Precinct. It is open to students from any Victorian university studying any course, and there is $7,000 in prize money up for grabs! Team registrations are now open.
