This paper explores water quality catchment modelling in the Botany Bay region to demonstrate the importance of retro fitting WSUD technologies into existing urban areas. The authors discuss that WSUD has had a high uptake in ‘greenfield’ urban developments and guidelines have focused on new development. Water quality modelling and assessment in NSW in the Botany Bay region has demonstrated the need for WSUD in both ‘greenfield’ and ‘brownfield’ context to achieve significant change in water quality.
