In 2001 the Cooperative Research Centre for Catchment Hydrology formed a partnership with the Victorian Environment Protection Authority to undertake research into the use, value, cost and evaluation of non-structural best management practices to improve urban stormwater quality (nonstructural BMPs). The primary aim of this research project was to produce monitoring protocols that could be used by local government authorities to measure the value and life-cycle cost of non-structural BMPs that improve urban stormwater quality.
